Its not like we want to book people, its that we have to. Can you even imagine what chaos there will be when the prefects slack off when they are not supposed to? Not everyone has such 'good integrity' as to 'not spill the drinks', 'not wear ankle socks' as the pupils from 2.15 Joseph (there I'm praising us .

HAHA not want to book people. Then ehy do you and Nat go yay I booked 13 Sec 1s 2day? Isnt that showing you love booking people?
And Chestee they must do their duty. What we are arguing about here is that they are going overboard with their duty and proving unhealthy to the school. People not as considerate? I believe that our students are all good at heart and that they are just lazy, doing things for their own comfort. Im not encouraging this, but Im saying that some of this can be allowed cos the students definitely dont throw them on the floor if there is a nearby dustbin. The only reason there is litter in the astroturf is: 1. No dustbin in the middle of the field 2. People use them as markers and forget to pick them up 3. They are lazy.
The people in all catergories are guilty, so 1 piece of litter 1 day ban lar. But this doesnt really happen within the school because the only place food&drinks should be banned from is the astroturf.

Nah, we're again transtioning into some other topic indirectly related to prefects- The school rules. Seriously. I agree that the prefects HAVE(as in forced lol) to do their job. What i hope for them to do, is not to be OVERZEALOUS, and just close one eye to SOME stuff that ppl do. And tim, you talk about banning the astroturf cause YOU DUN USE IT!!!

well as far as i can see, the prefects and tintin and the remaining body are debating about completely different things
prefects - about being their DUTY to carry out punishments body - about the flexibility of the prefects tintin - about torture
i find all this kinda amusing as they hve nothing to do with each other.
Pick 1 and get on with it seh
prefects - Well i aint gna deny that you guys were more of forced to do the duty rather than being totally into it, sometimes, but i recall you saying "we love volunteering" one time? Well, i aint gna hate you for doing your duty, but at least i think the point is to be conditional like if the badge dropped off let us go home, get our spare and only book the person if he comes back 2 days later without 1 anyway. Something like that.
body - Well flexibilty is a vague thing. There are limits to how much one can bend. that's why you dont see buildings looking like a jelly-oh
tintin - you're totally off now. Please dont refer to satan as we are a christian school. Well, tintin, if you had a medical condition, you tell them. They wont pump ya. If you did something wrong, you deserved to be pumped. If your team did something wrong, you are part responsible. If they find your team lacks teamwork, or spirit, they pump ya too. Isn't that the idea ? Well please dont refer to primary schools as the system is completely different. You don't see primary school kids doing advanced drills or long advanced lessons, do ya?

Lets get back to the point here. There are a few debates here. Proposition, the whole forum. Opposition, Prefects. 1)Hao Yang and Nat have changed their character since becoming prefects. Now they are more like Policemen setting up road blocks in front of our class. Is this good? And what happened to our good friends last year? 2)Bringing drinks into the class? Wrong? why? 3)Booking. Does it work? Its like the police road block on the road to catch drink drivers. Defeats the purpose? Haha some of the things I have realised about our 2 friends. ;D So.. This debate is about the flexibility of Prefects and their duty for the school. Im glad that finally someone is seeing the purpose of my HDB flat analogy, but yes what you gave about the badge thing is exactly what kind of flexibiltiy we want from them. A little grace. A little chance for the prefects to touch us with the kindness in their heart. And the part about the change in character, thats about their duty. Are they overdoing it? Trying to be what they are not? And the part of the banning the astroturf because i dont use it. Lol partially true but to hit where it hurts is key, which brings up the third point in the opening qn in this debate. Does Booking really make our students give a d**n?

thing is if we let u off for droping ur badge soon the whole school will noe and the whole school gives that excuse so the whole school no badge is it? and dun get booked is it? number 2 we dun hav time to go and check 10 people 2 days later whether thay have theri badges on or not we have our own lives. its not like we spend out recess goin to classes and calling them out to check for badges and what if they go for psci prac or sumthing? we come back another day? we aren't that free. number 3 we dun enjoy booking people. if something unpleasant was unnecessary, u would definitely want to make it pleasant rite? so of course we make it pleasant by saying yay to each other like if u were forced to starve u would robably look on the bright side and say yay i lost 3 kg this week

But they should also know that its a warning. And its impossible for the whole school to come in without a badge. Tie maybe but highly unlikely. Even if it happens you wont be dealing with it. It will be Dr. Ong. Extra School day
