minesweepermaster, remember thats it thier fault that the prefects are so responsible, as it was THEY who chose US in the first place.

Gd point, but the teachers would veto our decisions if we elected a 'spy' to work 'for us' in the prefectorial board. But then again, none of these people would want to take up the job of 'spy' in the first place, so the jobs would naturally go back to really responsible people such as you! Geddit?

Ya lor. Look at it this way... The Ho Yew Har vetoed 1 or 2 of the nominees last year and therefore only the really goodie people with the connections went in. When people build buildings, they mainly use a combination of steel and concrete. Depending on the design, different proportions of both materials are used. The current trend is to build steel based buildings to give it a cool look like the NLB and SMU in downtown and the Al Arab in Dubai. Steel gives buildings the flexibility to bend in the wind, and concrete is used to give the building strength to support its weight. An mproper proportion of either material might cause the building to crack or crash, depending on the microelement . If we could choose a prefectorial board which was not all as stiff as concrete but at least can be bend like steel then we would have a better board and better school right?

Thats seriously... I dunno what to say but the analogy was not a very good one. The prefectorial board ARE AS STIFF(STRICT) AS CONCRETE, WHILE OUR 'SPIES' WOULD BE THE ONE WHO WOULD BEND! So maybe that analogy could use some better way of explaination, but anyways, good try!(LCM style)

Im saying that we should have no need for spies in the PB, but instead the hardcore prefects change for the better. Isnt it how it should be?

Then in what way should they change? I mean besides giving the idea you must also give the practical side of the idea too.

Why cant secondary school prefects be like primary school prefects. I was one in primary school and well all the duties were the same but there was no pumping and no torture. There were trainings but no cheering and no pumping no demonic ways. Secondary school prefects should chagne to be like primary school ones And wesltw since you are defending secondary school prefects why dont u be one i will vote for you this year... and experience the real pain

Tintin do u think he will care? He might just be as on about prefects as YY is about NCC(SEA). And the practical way to change for the better has already been listed in the thread so many times. Wake up lar Wesley. Lala land flight is departing in 5 mins time. Keith tan is at the airport waiting liao.

Prefects on duty= wet blanket or spoilt fun. Prefects as ppl- fun. So this is my view. So prefects, In the name of god, do NOT do your duty.(Atticus Finch style) ;p
