More accurately, free cash. Selling part of your liver helps the other party by giving him a liver, while your original liver regenerates to it's full size. Free $$ unless something happens.
But look at the buyer's point of view. The Government only allows organ donations, but what if there are no compatible donors, and the waiting list is so long, you wait, then you hear that? The people who could help want cash for it, so what other choice do you have?
