Wow that polar bear computer is hibernating... Hibernation is where the computer stores its current status into the RAM and shuts down. So it is really shutting down and therefore hibernating your laptop in a taking off aeroplane is as good as shutting it down. Starting your computer from its 'long sleep' is much faster than the normal boot up as there are no startup programs but only the compulsory diagnostic tests.
